Pours a dark brown with a little ruby to the hue. Head is a finger of white foam. Aroma is sticky hops, with moderate resin and heavy herbal making up the sticky combo. Toffee and caramel bring forward sweetness, with toasty malts adding some heavy base. Hops are more forward than the heavy malt base. Flavor profile is toffee, raisins, and caramel with sticky hops more as a slight afterthought. Compared to the nose, it melds together a little more smoothly. Earthy malts arrive at close. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Effervescence is light with a very minor softness. Overall, some fair play here with sticky hops combined with mildly sweet old ale qualities.
