Double Nickel Brewing Company "Birds of Paradise Passionfruit Radler (DNA Series Batch #6)"
12 fl. oz. can, coded "05/29/18 14:37:38"
$1.99 @ Roger Wilco, Pennsauken, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: So what makes this a "radler"? Nothing is my guess, it's just a name, but OK. It's poured a very hazy straw gold body beneath a short head of white foam. The aroma is limited. There's some vague fruitiness to it, and a little bit of something else that I'm not sure of, I guess it's like fruit pulp. It's clean though, and not off-putting in any way. The head has dropped by now but I was expecting that, I assume this is a bit sour so let's find out... yes, it's a little tart but not too much. In that sense it reminds me of a witbier. And, come to think of it, it does seem a little wheaty. The passionfruit comes through clearly but that's not overdone either, it's very nicely balanced. It's very slightly sweetish but the acidity balances it; there's not too much bitterness to it but it finishes dry. In the mouth it's crisp and effervescent with a light-medium body. Overall it's quite refreshing, and fairly flavorful. It would be nice on a hot summer day while relaxing in the shade.
