(packaging as seen in the photo I submitted... first had this on draft at the brewery over the summer, prompting my purchase of a bottle, mostly for review and to share with my brother, who also appreciates and loves the smoky Islay whiskies... this brief recollecting review is based of us trying this bottle about 2-3 months ago)
Solid stout base, not too viscous, not too boozy, eminently sippable... bit of smoke on the nose, mostly a roasted, toasty dark malt foundation with the earthy accent... on the palate, not very sweet, not rich in malt depth and sweetness, but plump and firm... the marriage of the two Islay (Ardbeg and Laphroaig) cask aging came across unsurprisingly muddled, but present enough to be interesting... kinda wish they chose to do a strong (Belgian) golden ale with this aging instead... worth the purchase (and long-ish bike ride over) though (1839)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
