32oz growler from Brown Jug Warehouse growler bar. Poured into a standard pint glass. Pours an amber/orange with about one finger of white head that simmers down to a collar. Carbonation looks good. The head does cling to the glass somewhat. Clear without the cloudy IPA look.
The aroma is fresh hops--pine and some citrus and some caramel and biscuits from the malt. Also a light herbal quality.
Taste is initially toasted and caramel malt that transitions into bitter hops accentuated by pine and lemon flavors from the hops. Somewhat dry, earthy/spiced finish.
Mouthfeel is smooth and mellow with a crisp finish from the carbonation.
Overall, an interesting hybrid brew. Kind of like your standard ESB but hopped up a little to add some extra character. Nevertheless, has good balance and the hops never get up into IPA territory.
