From a crowler, bought at the tap room about a week ago, poured into my Fin Du Monde, where it looks fantastic, a kind of burnished amber, clear, with a 1/2 finger head that fades quickly and leaves very little lacing. Rich (but not heavy or too sweet) malt bill (Maris Otter) that dominates and comes in layers...very enjoyable, with some warm earthy and buttery and grainy notes and a little sweet bread. A little toffee. Light herbal hoppiness. Light feel but very full flavors. I'd guess that this is an ESB -- and a solid example -- but, I'm no expert, and maybe I'm so used to American pales that I've just forgotten what a good English pale is like. At any rate, I really enjoyed this one and would be happy to drink it often.
