A hearty backbone of Rahr Pale and Red Wheat with just a splash of Weyermann, Patagonia and Simpson specialty malts give this Big Boy a beautiful color. Take that malt base and mix in a nice blend of old school Cascade, Amarillo, Centennial, Citra, and Hallertau hops and it's high time you put on your big pants! This smooth, traditional IPA isn't for the faint of heart, it zips up all the way to 82 IBUs and is nicely placed at 6.8% ABV. Big Boy Pants is stuffed full of hops, lots and lots of hops.

From a 16oz can, purchased at the brewery. Canned in September of 2025.

This has a clear lighter amber colored pour. In the glass it is mostly clear looking. It just looks nice and it has a 2 finger off white colored head that is frothy, and has good retention. There's some good lacing on the glass.
Aroma is a nice bitter and sticky smelling pine aroma from the hops. It just clings to my nose.
Taste - This beer has a hint of all the malts up front. There's a bit of sweetness to this flavor, but it doesn't last long at all. The hops do kick in and just build to a climax. The hops are toward pine flavored and the bitterness from them just lingers for a long time.
Wow. The body is so sticky and resin feeling from the hops. Full feeling. Clingy. Bitter feeling just goes on and on.
I have been tending to avoid IPAs more lately, but, ones like this, I will continue to go back to. This is downright delicious.
