Bottle from Albertsons. Not very tart. Looks like pale red wine with a small fizzy head. Light berry aroma, taste is also light. Dry finish. Forgettable

A: Bright pink with a white head. Nice except for the super low head.

S: Slightly sweet. Light raspberry with a healthy belgian yeast backbone.

T: Sweet fruitiness of raspberry, strawberry, blueberry and blackberry. Tastes nice when the sweetness fades to a cranberry tartness. Mild belgian blond style yeast finishes with just a bit of banana. A touch of saltiness on the finish.

F: Crazy thin for better or worse. Extremely refreshing. The saltiness leaves you hungry for more. Great on a hot day but too thin today as it's a cool October day.

O: Yummy. I know I shouldn't compare, but this beer had more belgian yeast notes than last years. Also a bit fruitier. Where it had more flavor, I felt it lacked a little in body. Last years was sexier.

Clear copper/amber pour with a one-finger white head. Fruity aroma. Taste is predominately blueberry syrup backed by light cranberry and bread flavors. Not tart or sour at all. Very thin body.

22 oz bomber bought from Fred Meyer in S.Salem. $5.99 Pours a hazy peach tea sort of colour with a large frothy cream coloured head. Mostly fruity berry aromas..getting a bit cranberry not so much blue berry but its pleasing enough. Taste is more mixed berry and a little yeastiness. Its tart but very tame. just OK. Mouth feel is a major disappointment. There is barely any carbonation at all..that is a major no no for this style. disappointing could have been so much better if they had some carbonation in here.

Color- hazy ruby amber. Full head.

Aroma- cherry, lemon, and hint of dry saw dust.

Taste- Not dry, not tart, not fruity. So what is this? Starts with a mellow malty body, lemon pops in the middle, and finishes with a dry wheaty finish with slight hint of berry and lemon. A refreshing yet strong summer brew.

Poured from 650 ml bomber into a Liefmans Goudenband glass (my preferred all purpose beer tasting glass). Tasted July 2014.

22 oz bottle poured into a Duvel tulip.
7.8% ABV,

A - Beautifully pink-hued amber, Stumptown Tart is hazy but still shows off it's steady carbonation feeding the pale pink head of foam, which leaves adequate lacing on the tulip.

S - Belgian yeast imparts an immediately discernible dry chalkiness to the aroma that precedes banana, clove, and clay notes. The combination of blueberries and cranberries comes across like jam thinly spread across salt-less crackers leaving the yeasty aroma to take up it's slack.

T - Bready malt makes a near immediate shift to honey graham crackers, again, spread thinly with jam. Belgian yeast promptly takes over with a plethora of esters including clove and banana with clay and a pinch of white pepper spice finishing out.

M - Stumptown Tart's smooth entry becomes prickly quickly as carbonation dances on the tongue. Malty and medium bodied, this beer's high alcohol leaves it fairly dry finishing with just a kiss of sweetness lingering on the tongue, offset ever so slightly with a weak trickle of cranberry tartness.

O - If Bridgeport's Stumptown Tart would have been poured for me blind, I would have thought the pinkish hue peculiar but never would have guessed this clearly Belgian-styled beer was brewed with either cranberry or blueberry. Lightly jammy, the subtle fruit nuances hardly break through the effervescent Belgian yeast characteristics or it's dry finish. As American-brewed Belgian-style beers are concerned, the base beer is a great starting block but I was hoping for quite a bit more fruit involvement.
