From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #68 (Spetember 2012):
LOOK: Cloudy brassy orange, sufficient head
SMELL: Fresh berries, gummies, juicy, chalky yeast, marshmallow, peppery phenol, estery, taffy
TASTE: Smooth, crisp snap, very juicy, mildly tart, mish mash of berries, dry, yeast, crackers, earthy, spicy, herbal, more fruit, underlying warming alcohol, bone dry finish
Expectations can run a bit high if you put “Tart” on the label especially if you are throwing “Belgian Style Ale” around. Aroma is better than the flavor, fruit falls flat as soon as the finish comes around. Vague tartness shows no real character and the flavors that are there don’t mesh well.

poured into a trapistes rochefort glass.
appears as a transluscent brown with beautiful carbonation and little to no head.
smell is off putting honestly. sour strawberries. sweet, but something is just off. not sure how I feel about this.
taste is much better than the smell. kindof along the same lines as the smell, but in a good way.
light bodied, i deffinetly wouldnt have guessed this is close to 8%. good job disgusing this in both the taste and feel.
overall this is pretty dang good. dont let the smell trick you.
