Barrel sample at the brewery. While talking with Mike the brewer at the bar, he offered samples of this when we asked about the barrels stacked along the back wall. The 3 wine barrels have only been filled for a few months.

Reddish orange color, good clarity, looks almost like a cider.
Aroma is fruity with some woody oak and light cheese rind funk.

Taste is lightly tart and funky, fruit forward with berry and apple flavors, and a drying oaky finish. Light bodied and well attenuated. Straight from the barrel it's obviously still, as it hasn't been carbed yet. Overall very promising stuff, it has all the qualities you want at this stage, tartness, fruitiness, funk, and oak. Can't wait to try this on draft once it's ready...
