Appearance is nice - albeit a tad darker than I might expect. Not a big deal. Completely crystal clear. Smell is mild/subtle ... Kind of ready, touch of caramel malts and a hint of spicy hops on the beck end. Again, its very subtle so its hard to get all the aroma. Now for the taste of the beer itself ... Almost immediately you are hit with caramel malts, some bread, kind of watery. Then there comes this spicy bitterness that presents itself as quite astringent and almost metallic. Not great. It does mellow to a more floral spicy hop finish with some lingering bitterness. The feel is incredibly fizzy - its like drinking a soda. The lingering bitterness on the finish coats the throat as you drink it leaving a very dry finish. Overall its not terrible ... but its not great. The astringent bitterness is off putting, and its too carbonated for my taste - but other than that its decent.
