Hop-forward, spicy, herbal and citrus aromas from the German hops meld with the clean backbone of German malts and yeast.

Look: Cloudy light orange with a frothy white head that erupts and slowly settles to a pillow, leaving great lacing on the rim
Aroma: Floral notes, pilsner malt, spicy hops, warm bread, light wafts of citrus, and a little kiss of honey
Taste: Floral and citrus hops combine with lush bready malt and begin the taste adventure. Spicy hops and pilsner malt start to filter in and intermingle nicely along with a honey-like sweetness. Closes with more spicy and floral hops
Mouthfeel: Full, medium-high carbonation, and a nice but not too heavy bite and lightly dry finish
Overall: I love this beer. A couple years ago when I first tried this, I figured it would be either really good or really bad as these hybrids sometimes have too much flavor-clashing in my opinion, but this one hit the mark for me and still does. A cool and unique combo of German and American beer aspects – like a WCIPA but with only German ingredients. I find it tasty, refreshing, and well-made. Recommended

Poured into an Euler stange. Pours a medium golden amber with a one finger white head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of pale and biscuit malt, grassy hops, graham cracker; lightly floral. Taste is somewhat grainy biscuit malt, grassy and lightly citrus hops, rye bread, hint of lemon. Lingering grassy hops and grain. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Very German tasting. My first reaction was kolsch, but the hops and malt were both more robust, so perhaps kolsch meets German pilsner. In any case, this has a familiar, but hard to categorize flavor, with spot-on Continental hops and a very German tasting malt. These is a lightly graham cracker huskiness and mild sweetness to the malt that balances with the dry grassy hops. This is presenting itself as a German inspired IPA and although the hops alpha level is somewhat subdued, they really pulled it off. I like this and will check out some more domestic German styles from Zoiglhaus.

Pours an ever so slightly hazy honey gold colour..small splotchy white head and lace.
Surprisingly fruity/citrus aromas....Lemon and kumquat.. some grass.
Taste is weird but great a melding of grassy pilsner and sweet fruity American hops. But its good
Nice medium thick mouth feel..drying finish.
Unusual but good German pils IPA

Unfiltered gold. Great carbonation. Very nice head.
Bright, crisp, light, refreshing. Definite European character via the yeast.
Well executed and memorable.

Achtung! Sehr gut! A cloudy pour, thick head, generous lacing. The aroma of hops comes right up, side by side with a heady dose of malt. The ale has clean tastes, strong hop finish and good mouthfeel. Has that German feel to it, though one is not likely to run into something like this in the Fatherland. Our first one from Zoiglhaus. It won't be the last

Can from ABV.
A clear golden orange with a dense, white head with good retention, this looks solid. The nose has a strong, pungent German hop character with mint, earth, a little fruit and a clean but firm malt base. The palate opens with a pleasant bitterness, a nice resin character and a very nice earth and wet leaf hop character. Mildly woody, this beer has a mild fruitiness and a mild honeyed malt character to it. Medium-light in body and moderately carbonated, this beer finishes long and resiny with a pleasant bitterness. Quite excellent.

Hopfenbombe looks pleasant. Bright golden yellow, some sediment floating around, with a huge fluffy white head. It has incredible lacing.
The aroma is extremely unique. Every element seems super sized. Extra floral, citric, and weedy, and almost impossible to detect any sweetness to mellow it out. Lots of lemon.
But then it comes. It is indeed exploding with citrus, floral, and weedy hops, but there is a unique sweetness I can't quite put my finger on.
It feels somewhat chalky, but only after an initial juicy sweetness. On top of it all, that sweetness lingers but a dominance of lingering bitterness creeps in from behind. It's well carbonated and leaves a sticky feeling all over.
This is one of the most unique beers I've ever had. It was very difficult to review in fact. Whatever the hell it is, it was fun, and I can see myself regularly enjoying this. Prost!
