Zoiglhaus Brewing Company

Visited here Sept 27, 2024, with a friend. They have a large area called 'The Zed" drove by the first time because we were looking for Zoiglhaus. Plenty of seating inside and out and 4 or 5 food vendors. Food was different and diverse and good. We were there on a weekday afternoon and only about 10 people were there, so service was fast. About 10 taps and as far as I'm concerned, they brew some of the best German style beers around.

Interesting brewpub on the southeast side of Portland. U-shaped bar in the center of the room with large skylight above it. All the wall are painted black give the place a cavernous feel. 10 beers on tap, mostly German styles, but their IPAs were solid. I did not try the food.

interesting space - this is a bar in the middle of a food hall type place called The Zed- there are 5 or 6 counters of different food businesses, with common seating. 8 beers on tap, most leaned German style - I had pints of Schwarzbier and then a hoppy Amber as well. Quick service.

I visited Zoiglhaus while in Portland last weekend. Upon my visit, they had 9 beers on tap; the focus on German styles (pils, weiss, dunkelweizen; their kölsch sadly is sold out). I tried a few things; the Czech dark lager was good, as was the dunkelweizen. The pilsner was soft and sweet but also had a solid bite. Overall really good beer.

It's an interesting taproom space, a big facility called the Zed that they share with a cocktail bar and a couple restaurants. Long wood u-shaped bar and a slightly hip industrial look. I like the vibe. Couple TVs on the wall. Service good up at the bar; bartender seems chill. I could easily see returning here the next time I come to Portland.

Went for lunch with my wife, some friends, and our collective three kids (6, 7, and 8). Kids enjoyed the play area with toys -- definitely kid friendly. Their German styles were pretty solid, their non-German styles were clean at least. Food was pretty good but not awesome. Staff was friendly, service was quick.

Quiet Saturday noon lunch. Food was very good and authentic - some of the best we’be had outside of Germany. Attentive service.
