Can from Belmont Station.

A clear golden orange with a dense off-white head with excellent retention and lacing. The nose is soft, doughy, creamy with nice malt, toast, and a little bread. Faint lemony hops with a little mint. The palate opens doughy, bready, mildly sweet with a clean fermentation profile. Honey, dough, lightly toasted white bread are present. Lovely floral and mildly lemony hop profile. Slightly watery on the finish, but otherwise, an excellent beer for a worthy cause.

Purchased at Belmont Station this afternoon. Date stamp reads "CANNED ON 03/16/2023 #2020 FROM PDX, OREGON WITH LOVE". Enjoyed in a nonic half pint glass.

Look:
A bright, slightly hazy deep gold body capped with creamy white foam that displays great retention. Leaves plenty of intricate lacing.

Smell:
Luscious bready malt with excellent depth. Moderately sweet. Underpinned by lovely floral noble hops and a piquant hit of sulfur.

Taste:
Follows the nose by leading with malt that is clean, bready and rich but not heavy. Mild sweetness tempered by floral hops with firm but unobtrusive bitterness. Flavors of lightly toasted rustic breadcrust with delicate notes of clover honey and a gentle mineral character in the aftertaste. Superb malt/hop balance.

Feel:
Medium-bodied with finely textured carbonation. Smooth with a crisp, drying finish.

Overall:
A delightful beer, and a fine example of an unfortunately rare style. Even better, all net profits benefit a Portland children's hospital. Zoiglhaus makes outstanding lagers, and deserves a spot in the upper tier of PNW lager specialists such as Chuckanut, Wayfinder, and Heater Allen.
