Pint at the Westside Taphouse in West Salem Oregon.
$7.00.
Pours a very dark brown boby. Nice looking tan head.
Smooth dark chocolate and coffee aromas. Some fruitiness in the background.
Smooth toasty, coffee and chocolate taste.
Excellent smooth mouth feel.
A very nice Porter.

Look: Pours jet black with a voluptuous brown head that quickly builds to the rim and holds, slowly settling to a pillow and leaving awesome lacing behind
Aroma: Chocolate, roast, warm brown bread, a little coffee, wafts of dark fruit, and light earthiness
Taste: Opens up with a rush of roast and chocolate that hit separately before joining forces and gaining depth as some coffee follows closely behind. Brown bread and dark fruit become evident in the middle and earthy notes peek in and out throughout until it closes with chocolate, roast, and earthiness
Mouthfeel: Full, clean, smooth, medium-high carbonation, and clean, light, and mildly dry on the finish
Overall: I dig it. I didn’t know these folks brewed a porter and since I’ll drink anything they make, wanted to try this and after doing so, between the ‘lager fermentation’ descriptor on the can, the light feel and finish, and the ABV, I’d say this is a Baltic Porter, which would make sense given Zoiglhaus’ profile. A tasty one and far too easy to drink at 7%, which I didn’t notice on my first couple cans. Recommended
