The colour is clear, bright yellow. The medium-sized, white foam dissolves into nothing after a short while.
The (quite strong) smell is dominated by a sweet, malt flavour with a touch of canned peas and paper pulp.
The carbonation is quite normal for lager: Medium strong with medium-sized bubbles. The mouthfeel is really fresh.
The taste is full of sweet malt with a small shade of straw. The finish got some bitterness and (of course) some sweetness. There is a surprising touch of Sal ammoniac in the aftertaste!
This beer is brewed with whisky malt, as homage to the Scottish engineers who led the work on the Göta Kanal (Gothia Canal), a canal that was cut across Sweden in the early 19th century. The brewery Millingstorp Gårdsbryggeri is located just a few kilometres south of the canal.
