Handsome coppery dark amber with a decent foam in the Avec les Bons Voeux chalice. The brewer calls this a "Belgian Rye IPA" that's made with Belgian yeast. The aroma is sensational, with fruitcake and dark yeasty notes, and a dose of alcohol fumes. Tangy yet malty. A touch of orange bitters.
Some leafy hoppiness with a citrus touch. Deeply fruity and veering into the dry Belgian finish. Strong and robust with an aromatic long aftertaste. Just bitter enough. This would be a Christmas brew that anyone would be proud of, malty and hoppy with that yeasty zing. A little alcoholic but the aftertaste is sugar cookies. From the 32 oz jug filled at the garage brewery.
