Poured from a crowler into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a moderately hazy, medium to dark coppery amber with a two finger off-white head with great retention and solid lacing; looks nice. Aroma of biscuit malt, aroma of citrus and floral hops, orange, wild flower hay and grapefruit. Flavor is biscuit malt, citrus and grassy hops, orange, grapefruit, a little pine; lightly floral. Moderate bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. I chose the highest IBU IPA at this brewery, which was also the one recommended by the server for best hop bitterness kick. I was pleased to see the dark color and the biscuit in the aroma, signalling an old fashioned British leaning malty IPA, and it delivered on that promise. Nice malt depth and some good English character, although the hops are a hybrid of NA citrus and pine with some light grassiness from the Goldings. I like this hop bill and enjoyed the malty flavor. Although this was fairly hazy, it has a more England meets West Coast character overall. Solid IPA.
