I had this beer on-tap in a tulip glass at the brewery.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a light haze and a thin layer of foam atop. They specifically call this a “hazy IPA”, but it’s not particularly hazy.
Smell: sweet malt with a light tropical hop aroma. Nice enough, but there’s just a hint of diacetyl here that I don’t love.
Taste: sweetish malt with some nice tropical hops. Unfortunately, the effect is somewhat marred by a diacetyl off-flavor that was hinted at in the aroma. It’s not awful, but it could be a lot cleaner.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: it’s kinda fine, but the off flavor isn’t great. Not the best I’ve had from Hemlock State.
