This one is my favorite from North River.
It pours out deep, and thick, a very dark brown all the way through. The tan head is sizable, creamy, and firm. It holds up very well and leaves some a good amount of thick lacing on the glass, beginning with rings where it settles and spreading some legs from there.
This one showcases the coffee well while allowing the stout to show through as it should. The roasted malts and roasted coffee complement and build off each other rather than building up harshly or allowing roast to overpower everything. It permits some creamy sweetness to come through as well, and it seems like a kiss of leafy hops might just be here to add the right balance. The coffee is obviously of a good quality, though I admittedly haven't tried Red Rambler and would assume it to be the source.
Roasty notes add dryness that work alongside the sweetness rather than stamping it out, so it runs nicely semi-dry in a nice rich, smooth full body. There's lots of creaminess running through from start to finish and a little dryness lingering in the end.
