473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 17 2023 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear brassy golden colour, generating an inch of puffy, foamy white head that dissipates over the next several minutes. It leaves behind an attractive swath of lacing as it's reduced to a sudsy cap and collar - looks good so far. The aroma is very sugary, and highly reminiscent of the frozen confection it is meant to mimic. I'm getting lemonade, cherry juice, red Kool-Aid and lime-ade: it's appealing, but if I were blindfolded I would probably guess this was a cooler, not a beer.

The flavour profile is somewhat more balanced, mustering just enough sourness to balance out the sugary-sweet leitmotif that dominated the nose. I'm tasting cherry candy and juice initially, with notes of Sicilian lemon and raspberry lemonade following closely behind. Mild lactic acidity on the back end, paired with a trio of lime zest, cherry candy and sugar that reverberates into the aftertaste. Medium in body, with a creamy mouthfeel aided by light, airy carbonation that gently prickles the palate.

Final Grade: 3.97, a B+. Lost Craft's Rocket Pop Sour is a proper tribute to those red, white and blue popsicles from our youth: while there's no question that this is a gimmicky beer, it is also a quality emulation of the real article. In other words, it nailed what it was going for, so I've got to give it credit for that. It's still pretty sugary (even for a fruited sour), which limits its drinkability IMO, but it's absolutely a beer I could see myself buying again, if I were in the mood for a pink lemonade beer.

Looks like pale IronBru for those of you familiar with that Scottish soft drink. Short head to a ring, just a little lace. Smell brings me right back to summer days as a kind with that creamy fake cherry sort of aroma. Right on target. Similar flavour profile. Minimal beeriness happening. Gently sweet with a slightly bitter finish. Just a hint of sourness. Drinkable as a novelty beer and a nice trip down memory lane.
