Looking Glass is a hearty traditional English-style Extra Special Bitter. English malts lend notes of hearty brown bread and toasted hazelnut, balanced by the floral and earthy character of Liberty & Fuggle hops. Keep cold and enjoy fresh!

16 oz. can dated 04/08/2024
Pours clear amber brown orange with a creamy frothy off-white foam head. Notes of toffee, toasted brown bread, biscuit, amber honey, hazelnut, dark caramel, a hint of chocolate, dried fruits, mild spice, and herbal earthy floral woodsy hops. Feels medium bodied, creamy and smooth with low carbonation. Overall a nice ESB.

Darker amber and clear. Small head that quickly becomes rim bubbles. Minor, small streaks and spots on the glass.
Earthy initial aroma. Some ash. No caramelized malts.
More malt on the tongue up front. This is caramelized giving the beer some balancing toastiness. Full bodied with a neutral carbonation level. The hop shows up only in the swallow and it’s lighter than expected but it provides a well-balanced finish.

Pint can dated 9/5/19 - 2 weeks old. Pours hazy copper orange with a fluffy head that settles down with lacing. Smells of toasted malts or biscuit. Taste is bitterness over malt sweet body - true to style. Feel is medium body, moderate carbonation with some bitter bite. Overall, this is a good match to the ESB style and a good beer worth trying.

Canned 1/17/18
Pours a nice foamy thicker 1 finger head that fades semi slowly, some soapy lacing, darker slight auburn color
Nose sweet malts, a little toasted biscuity, caramel, candy, mild spicy, fair grassy earthy and slight fruity hops
Taste brings some sweet candy malts again, toasted reddish malts, caramel, biscuity notes, big hops, earthy spicy bitterness, grassy as well, quite bitter all around even with attempted sweet malt balance, little fruity as well, drier very bitter finish
Mouth is med to a bigger bod, decent carb
Overall not bad for the style, not a beer I like to have very often but every once and a while I like it. This is pretty good for the style although maybe a bit too malty.

Excellent pour in a Stone Imperial pint glass: light chocolate brown, with a 3F head.
Aroma: fruit ester and malt.
Medium-full body, fruit- malt taste, and an excellent bitter finish.
Well-done for the style, especially with the finish.
Glad to revisit this style. Bring on more ESBs! Less ABV, rich and drinkable.

Brewed with Target and Challenger hops; a little dark in color and murky for the classic take on the style
