Appearance: Pours with a burnt orange/cranberry color and is capped with a one finger head that fades to a collar; shards of lacing
Smell: I haven't heard of barberries before but the aroma they generate is a bit like a combination of lemon and sour cherry; there is also a lactic aspect
Taste: Lactic berry flavors with the lemon and sour cherry expression; there is also a dry, vaguely herbal aspect, through the middle and the finish is also dry and almost stalky
Mouthfeel: Light bodied with moderate to high carbonation; somewhat puckery
Overall: This was brewed with 80lbs of barberries that the brewer's uncle in Turkey bought in a market and shipped to the US; kudos to the brewer for bringing a unique flavor to the market; this is a clean fruited sour that showcases the barberry flavor without creating a lot of diverting complexity
Thanks, cdubnbird, for the opportunity
