So I have had a few beers now from this new local brewer for me and this is my first IPA from them. Big, tight head and attractive amber body. Nose has some tropical fruit notes with some light herbal and medicinal qualities, but pretty mellow overall. Not really hoppy in the traditional manner, and the texture is a little watery at moments in the back half. Fairly balanced and fine for everyday drinking. Might be good on tap too.

Just a bit of haze in the amber body. Sports an average size white head along with good lacing. Muted aroma providing a small amount of citrus and pine. Pleasantly bitter taste is more resinous than the nose although the citrus remains a factor. Dry, piney aftertaste. Medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel. A solid, locally made product.

Can Date: none
Palate Contaminants: other beer

Dark gold color. Slight opaqueness. Medium-fine head, but not much lacing.

I get hardly any scent. I detect a little malt, and based on other things I've consumed in the past hour, I'm pretty sure my nose is still working. Maybe a little apple. Well, if it's not there, then it's not there.

Taste is about the same, and I suppose it's a good sign that I picked out... a little lightly toasted malt and apple. And again, it's just not that intense. I mean, it's not bad, but it's hardly there when cold. I have to swish it around when it's warmer to really get anything. There is no date on the can, and I couldn't have anything for the last six weeks, but usually there still more left.

I suppose the "Feel" part is where I'm really suppose to dock points. Well integrated carbonation and the alcohol doesn't stick out too much. Of all things, the bitterness is at a really nice level, and the malt is fine when it warms, but where are the other flavors?

It frustrating because I can detect what it should be.

This is my first review so here goes:
Look: Nice clarity and a hue of golden wheat
Smell: a nice nose of St. Joseph Orange-flavored baby aspirin
Taste: light tropical flavors of mango, melon, and orange with understated hops
Feel: light and easy-to-drink.

Overall, a refreshing IPA meant for hot, summer Baltimore days! Not a hoppy show-stopper like the DIPA's out there, but
a nice straightforward beer.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass. Brewed July 17th, canned August 6th 2019.

Beaming crystal amber and bronze orange colored body, with some nice amounts of light carbonation and the odd big bubble. Fluffy easy frothy making three finger head with an excellent creamy top.

Hop angle on the aroma, is present but also a bit odd. Pine to small resin like quality that doesn't have much fruit tones. Smells slightly gummy if I could use that word, with a sort of medicinal slight sweetness to it also. Faint hint of caramel rounds it out.

Palate seems a little understated not by hop fade. Light bodied but still enough malt backbone to give some sweetness and depth. Mid palate has a bit of light fruit mixing a sort of grainy finish and very dry tannic quality. Seems like a bit of light hop oily quality on the finish also.

Quite and interesting hop angle, but it's not a great enjoyable one amongst the bounty of IPAs out there. Still a solid drinkable beer.
