Absolutely gorgeous burnished gold. Slightly hazy with just-off-white head. Retention isn't great, but that's to be expected in a bigger beer.
Smells like coconut and bourbon, bit of sticky malt
Lots of wood from the bourbon barrel. Definitely malty, but not especially complex on that end. Coconut on the finish. A bit boozier than I would like.
Mouthfeel and carbonation are spot on for the style
This beer is a showcase for the barrel. I would have really like some more malt complexity. Tastes like they used straight US 2row. The simplicity is a bit of a let down
