OK as part of my never-ending search for a good pale ale, I was exhilarated to find this one on tap at a waterfront restaurant in Annapolis MD called The Choptank (pricey but good food). This pale ale is everything I've been looking for as far as Golden color, good head and hoppy - but not overly. Crisp clean taste.
Trying to get it through Elkton's Stateline Liquors, I hope I can get it.

12 ounce can poured into a tulip style pint glass.
L: Clear gold, over an inch of persistent dense white foam, leaves some lace, has a few visible rising bubbles.
S: Opens with malty grain aroma, quickly turns to feed corn aroma, very little hop aroma.
T: Pale malt corn flavor, floral hops, mild bitterness, finishes with earthy hop flavor/bitterness.
F: Medium body, medium carbonation, soft and creamy feel, weak crisp bite at finish.
O: Has more of an English hop character, corn flavor and aroma unfortunately dominate this beer, no mention of corn in previous reviews so it is this batch or just me, the can I had was average at best.

This starts well, with a tight white head and dark golden body. Gentle tropical fruit hops and malt balance in the nose. This has a creamy texture and a tangy little bite at the end. I like this as an IPA because it isn't just a "lite IPA" but a distinct entity altogether.

Appearance: Hazy orange body, small white head, fair amount of lacing.
Aroma: Subtle, with a layer of citrus and floral hops.
Taste: Modest hop bitterness develops after a softer fruit presence up front. Clean, dry aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Easy on the buds. Nicely carbonated, medium bodied, short lived finish.
Overall: Rounded, balanced; represents the style rather nicely.

Appearance:
Yellow with a haze so plush it looks soft to touch. A tiny turbulence of soapy white forms the head, exhibiting moderate retention and a single ring of lace that clings to the lip of the glass like its afraid of drowning.
Bouquet:
Citrus hops that are crisp and bright as an early Spring morning. A pleasant fragrance, but weak.
Feel:
Bustling bubbles in a refreshing medium with a biting hop linger.
Taste:
Hops, reserved as a silent monk, sit clean and stately in front of an obscure, vaguely bubblegum linger.

16oz can into a teku glass.
Look: Pours a pale, opaque orange/amber with a small head of fine foam, leaving some sticky lacing behind.
Smell: Simple but delightful. Aroma is all grassy herbal hops and a tiny bit of citrus.
Taste: Follows the nose, dry herbs/grass, a little bit of citrus, and a malty, biscuity bread note.
Feel: Medium bodied with fine bubbles.
Overall: Grassy, dry and delicious. Very solid Pale Ale from Brookeville.

Poured from the can into a nonic pint glass.
Very light pale amber body color, with a faint touch of haze, but with some decent clarity. Golden orange and reaching to a bright white tall fluffy three finger plus head cap. Excellent retention with a great top and island creamy appearance. Some nice pill like lacing rounds out a good look, too bad about the minor haze.
Aroma is quite simple but nice. Light hop grass and perhaps some citrus zest, but some good grain quality, hinting of light crispy flavors of dark bread crust. Good balance between the two as well. Hints slightly caramel on the sweetness angle.
Palate starts off solid. Very nice hop and malt combination, with a light classic pale ale mouthfeel. Hints of orange citrus and a little grapefruit, mixing some sweet caramel and a bit of toasty white bread. Finishes with a bit dry powdery malt quality, hints of bleached flour slightly, but also manages a good hop angle in the aftertaste of light green pine and citrus like oils.
Pretty solid pale ale, with a good classic profile.

So, this doesn't have any "version" on the label, and was canned after the last 6.0 rating, so maybe they nailed the recipe and this is what it will be from here on? Anyhow, on to the review!
Hazy deep gold, nice white head, good retention and lace
Citrus, pineapple, and mango jump out of the glass!
Flavor follows aroma, along with a nice sweet bread malt backbone.
Medium bodied, enough carbonation to cleanse, not flabby like most of the hoppy beers I've had from them.
Best beer I've had from Brookeville at this point.
