Poured from the can into a nonic(k) pint glass.
Deep rich light tan colored head, with a thick cap of three finger solid and uniform dusting foam. Body cascaded nicely out of the can forming a lovely walnut brown color and solid appearance.
Slight husked malt and light chocolate notes, with a faint whiff of cake light sweetness on the nose. Aroma is light but rich sensing with a varied sense of flavor and lush hinting dark richness to come possibly.
Palate gives a real nice sensation of light body and simplicity with just a touch of distinction. Light and almost crackly grain, with an even lighter milk chocolate note. Minimal roast and depth though, but the vanilla quality is nicely dialed in with hinting lactose sense and just a nice enough of a creamy finish to give the porter a little bit more play and richness.
Lacks some of the roast and classic definition, but has a nice twist and solid vanilla character. Good porter.
