an imperial blonde ale with kiwi in it, an interesting and oddly drinkable beer for its strength and uniqueness. its not perfectly clear but appears very light in the glass, no added viscosity or density to it at all from the higher alcohol content, and with the lightest brassy tone to it. aroma is subtle for me, agricultural and interesting on the grain side like all the beers we had in here were, but less hoppy than the rest of them, and with some honey and floral sweetness running through it, the kiwi is not immediately evident to me. the flavor is pretty simple, usually i expect a little more depth in the stronger beers, but this still just sort of tastes like a blonde ale. the fruit seems largely fermented out, the faintest tropical tart thing to it, but that could be from hops too here, its not as distinctive as i wanted it to be, but was it warms up some more layers of grain come out, and it becomes crackery, bready, even baked for a second, with some white wine character coming out, teasing kiwi on my palate. honey and hay, light citrus and chardonnay, more than just barley malt i have to think too. a neat beer with a lot of flavor, but i would like the kiwi to be more robust in the mix. maybe my least favorite of the four we had in here, but still a solid offering.
