Poured out of a 12 oz. can into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a clear, medium golden color with a fluffy white head that's over an inch thick when first poured that settles eventually to a thick ring lining the inside of the glass along w/ some medium sized cluster swirls of surface foam and good lacing. Aromas of some bready, biscuity malts along w/ some citrus and floral hop notes. Flavors of very lightly toasted, bready, biscuity malts followed by an herbal, floral and citrus hop bitterness. Flavors of orange rind and and bit of pine as well. Spot of for the style tastewise. Has a crisp, also somewhat smooth, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean, slightly dry finish. A very solid beer here indeed!

Six pack from Market on the Square. Medium holden,. Mild haze, small skin of head. Aroma is mild citrus notes. Taste brings the hops out a bit more, not a hop monster by any means, but provides enough bitterness. Nice citrus notes throughout.

Poured into a narrow pint glass: color is gold, transparent, good effervescence, head is brighter white with fine to small bubbles and appears about 1/2 inch thick and then lingers very well with some light lacing.
Smell is quite pleasant with good malt character: notes of toasted malt, light biscuit, very light amber malt like character, then hop aromas of earth, pine, and subtle citrus rind.
Taste is similar with pleasant malt flavor - light toast, hint of biscuit, and amber malt like flavors; hops are citrus rind, light pine, earth and grass - good, solid, bitter.
Mouthfeel is low carbonation, strong bitter character, and lingering drying bitterness.
Overall a very good IPA, excellent hop/malt balance, good malt character and nice bitterness.

This one pours a slightly hazy golden orange color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.
This smells like citric hops, grassiness, resinous pine, pale malt, and grapefruit.
This is fairly basic, but it's done well. There's not much malt flavor, as West Coast IPAs tend to go, with a nice crisp and clean citrus bite, and some definite pine and light grassiness.
This is very drinkable, with a very crisp mouthfeel, and a lighter body. The bitterness doesn't linger for very long.
I haven't heard much waves about 12 Gates, so I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed this one.

12 oz can. Pours amber with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head and lively carbonation. Aroma is of citrusy hops, caramel malt and tropical fruit. Body is medium and crisp. Herbal, citrusy hops, caramel malt and tropical fruit fill the mouth. Finish is long and dry. OK brew.
