Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a sky amber to ruddy brown color with a light transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. Quickly dissipating head. Light lace. The aroma had some grainy sweet tones with a little bit of spicy rye. Some caramel and toffee malts come in underneath. The flavor had a fairly nice sweet to spicy blend of the previously mentioned aromas. Nice blended aftertaste and finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Moderate carbonation felt. Some spice ruffles my tail feathers of my tongue, feels good. Overall, nice way to take an unpopular beer style and "spice" it up with a little bit of rye. I would have this again.
