Huge vanilla sweetness and wheat aroma. It's seriously good. 4.5

Grainy wheat, soft and vibrant vanilla, and the barest touch of gentle earthy hops. 4

Smooth and very very body. Soft and crushable. 4

Very nice pale wheat. Drank right from the can picked up from the pub. Nice aromas of wheat and bread, banana, and vanilla. Reminds me slightly of a Nilla Wafer. Flavor started a little metallic, but after a few gulps, rounded out to banana, and vanilla, bread and biscuit, some light spice. Big flavors. Nice, creamy feel. So far, Austin Brothers has impressed me with being spot on to style.

What a quality brew, one of the most unique things I have ever had in a glass. This is another summer beer I can add to my list because it bring back memories of being a kid with an extremely tasty creamsicle!

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a semi-hazy golden yellow color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Light lace.
The aroma had some sweet wheat, light grainy/cracker-like malts, light orange pulp sweetness, and a touch of vanilla at the end.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side processing all of the prior mentioned aromas together with a touch of dryness rounding it all out. Clean mobile sweet aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied as it seemed to sit just a touch under and having a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt appropriate. Clean brisk semi-sweet finish.
Overall, pretty nice APWA I'd have again, a bit different than what I'm used to but it came together fairly nice.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 5/18/2017. Pours very hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing cling on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of vanilla, orange peel, lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, and biscuit; with lighter notes of honey, pepper, clove, banana, bubblegum, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big vanilla, orange peel, lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, and biscuit; with lighter notes of honey, pepper, clove, banana, bubblegum, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal bitterness and yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of vanilla, orange peel, lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, biscuit, honey, pepper, clove, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Slight dryness from bitter/spiciness, lightly increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/creamy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a very nice spiced pale wheat ale style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and pale malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink. A lot of vanilla presence as advertised; with nice yeast, orange peel, and malt balance. Very flavorful for the ABV. Had more yeast character than I expected for the style. A very enjoyable offering.

I picked up a bottle of Austin Brothers Woody Wheat at Boyne Country Provisions. A wheat ale with vanilla peaked my interest, so lets see how it goes. 2016 Vintage. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a weizen glass.

A- The label looks nice, it's a little a little simple, but it is just a little eye catching. It poured a dark orange color that took on more of a brighter orange color when held to the light with over three fingers worth of creamy and fluffy off white head that died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and it left some patchy lacing behind. This is a very nice looking wheat beer, I have no complaints.

S- The aroma starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the vanilla being the firs to show up, it's nice and noticeable while impart a natural vanilla aroma and it goes right into some citrus rind like aroma with the orange peels sticking out the most. Up next comes some basic wheat beer aromas with some pale malts, wheat, grainy and bready aromas. Towards the end comes a little bit of some estery witbier yeast with a little bit of spices coming through. This beer has a pretty nice aroma, it lives up to it's description and it's unique.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with a higher amount of medium sweetness with the vanilla still being the first to show up, it shows up just as much as it did in the aroma imparting the same natural vanilla aspects and it's the flavor that sticks out the most in this beer. Up next comes the citrus rinds which show up just as much as they did in the aroma and it's followed by a little bit of a doughy flavors that leads into the malts which impart all the same aspects that it did in the aroma. On the finish there's a little bit of that estery yeast and spices with pretty much no bitterness with a little bit of sweetness taking it's place and it had a orange rind and heavy vanilla like aftertaste. This is a pretty nice tasting beer, it's for sure unique.

M- Smooth, crisp, a little creamy, on the lighter side of being medium bodied with a medium amount of carbonation. The mouthfeel is pretty nice and it works well with this beer.

Overall I thought this was a pretty nice beer and a nice example of the style, it was a unique beer and it lived up to it's description to make for a memorable beer. This beer had nice drinkability, I could drink a couple, but that would be my limit. What I like the most about this beer, is how unique it is, I haven't had a wheat a wheat beer like this one before. What I like the least about this beer is nothing, it doesn't really have any weak points. I would buy this beer again when in the mood for something like it and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind vanilla and is looking for a unique wheat beer. All in all I liked this beer and I thought they took a risk with this beer and in the end it paid off. It's one not a favorite Austin Brothers beer, but it is one of the more unique wheat beers I've had. Good job guys, this is a tasty and unique tasting beer keep it up.
