32 ounce growler into tulip glass, filled on 5/18/2019. Pours very hazy deep ruby red/orange/pink/purple color with a 1 finger fairly dense light pink head with solid retention, that reduces to nothing eventually. Minimal spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big sour/tart/tangy black currant, blood orange juice, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of black currant, blood orange, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge sour/tart/tangy black currant, blood orange juice, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy black currant, blood orange juice, fruit skin/seed, lemon, lime, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red/green apple, red grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of black currant, blood orange, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/lactose/tart/sourness, and tangy fruit balance; with zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/grainy, and fairly acidic/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited milkshake sour! All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of black currant, blood orange, fruity/acidic yeast, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and pretty refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish; fantastic soft feel, and not overly lactic. Fantastic balance of juicy/jammy fruit, and lacto complexity; with a great lactose and pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Light residual sweetness with lingering acid/tangy dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example as expected.
