The color is a dark brown with a fluffy white head. Malt dominates the aroma, flavor is good rich malt with a touch of astringency from the grain or hops which comes off as pleasant. Aftertaste is very smooth. Very tasty and drinkable, although I don't know the ABV, this beer can sneak up and smack you if you're not careful.
This year's batch appears to be the orginal recipe of this brew. A few years ago the brewery came out with a pale Oktoberfest and last year I didn't even see one come out. Overall a very good beer.
