This is the first beer to be released in Asheville that was fermented 100% with local, coolship captured wild cultureā¦no other yeast or bacteria added. The mixed field base beer was fermented with this wild culture in Chardonnay barrels for 8 months then blended with over 2# per gallon of blueberries, blackberries and boysenberries for an additional 6 weeks.

Appearance: Pours out the color of cranberry juice with a fizzy head that quickly fritters away to a ringlet with a few dots sticking
Smell: Tart berry aromatics with the blackberry and boysenberry overwhelming the blueberry; oaky with a hint of funk
Taste: Dry and tart, at the outset with the three berries all discernable; the oak makes an impact, after the swallow, with a slight bit of funk; very dry finish
Mouthfeel: Medium body with low carbonation
Overall: Between the lack of carbonation and the lack of funk, this one isn't quite up to the standard of other beers I have had from Zebulon

Super jammy and tart. Lite funk and subtle barrel presence. Looks like liquid jelly and smells like straight fruit juice. I am definitely buying another bottle and letting it sit!

A: The beer is very dark reddish purple in color. It poured with some wishing on the surface and a narrow collar of off-white bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of boysenberries and blueberries are present in the nose.
T: The taste mostly follows the smell and has fruity flavors of blackberries and blueberries. There are faint amounts of sourness.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a nice beer if you like berries such as blackberries, blueberries, and boysenberries. It's not that sour on the palate.

Pours a beautiful deep purple. Slight funk on the nose. Initially tartness that turns into a juicy and berry sweet flavor. Slight tang finish that smooths out as it warms.
