Dragging an old school IPA into the modern era, Civil Society piles on every hop in the brewer's pantry for a little something old and a little something new that's sure to appease hop heads of any preference in IPA.
Fresh To Death settles into the glass with a golden orange hue, pouring with a strong haze and offering only a timid backlit glow. As its creamy ivory froth builds on top, a radiant fruit cocktail scent drifts across the nose with everything from citrus and tropical fruit, to stone fruit and berry, to floral and herbal scents for a culmination of citronella. A gentle sweetness greets the tastebuds with light caramel and granola with a shortbread and light honey pep.
But its a strong hop presence that bring equal parts orange, mango, peach and currant with a quick backdrop of lime, passionfruit, apricot and a hint of grape. All incased in a sherbet-like succulence, a nearly tangy impression comes from the fruity hop impression and follows the ale into a spicy bitterness laced with black tea, verbena, cannabis and gin.
Medium bodied and offering a drier bitterness than expected, the classic IPA mouthfeel is a welcomed departure from the sweeter and heavier hazy IPA that demonstrates such high level of fruitiness and perfume. This beer is simply to die for as it has all the refreshment of traditional American IPA but the fruit radiance of the New England styles. Fresh death never tasted so good!

Outstanding NEIPA. Thanks for sending @doctorzombies. Bright hazy orange color. Good solid inch of head. Big juicy citrus aroma with a touch of stone fruit. A touch of bite on the taste.

Another very solid offering from Civil Society - pretty much clinching a trip over there next time I head south. Fantastic nose and a great trio of hops make this a win.

Fresh was already a favorite and this beer takes it to the next level. Had this on draft at the festival and from cans a week later. Awesome both times!

This is fantastic. It's fresh on roids. Beautiful straw color with a nose that smells of citrus & hops. The citrus hits you strong with a killer dry grass finish. I hope they brew this one again because it's outstanding.

On tap at the Civil Society 1 Year Anniversary. Hazy orange. Aroma of garlic and citrus. Tastes of citrus. Grainy malt. Much sweeter than regular Fresh. Medium sweetness and body. Not bad, but this really doesn't taste like Fresh. It tastes bigger and sweeter, like a double IPA.
