Released 5/15/20; drank 5/22/20 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice white head; a thick curtain of lace.
Orange citrus, table sugar & grapefruit notes in the nose.
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Grapefruit, table sugar & caramel flavors; booze heat emerged as this warmed.
This looks like a classic NE IPA but doesn't quite pass muster. Not one to seek out.

Can't remember when I traded for this as there wasn't a date on the bottom of the can but this was the first beer from Civil Society that I had here at the house and was able to rate on this site. Lovely array of hops here as this was full of fruit, juice, sweetness, and just a bit of dankness to keep things interesting. The fact that this aged well was a plus when all was said and done!
Not a bad pour to this as the liquid was a turbid peach with enough light seeping in around the edges with an equal amount of light and dark sediment floating in the liquid. Most of the lacing left behind was in a thick section along the back half of my pint glass as the collar was nearly nonexistent. Plenty of melon, cantaloupe, tropical fruit, stone fruit, and dank hops in the nose as the taste was much heavier and livelier. Heavy peach, citrus slickness, and nectar came through in the taste as a grassy, forest undertone emerged and never quite let go. The Mosaic was probably the strongest of the hops here as the others were smoother, juicier, and more earthy with the end result being a beer that was more and more enjoyable as it fully warmed up.
Not a ton of booze here but this was certainly an IPA that had plenty of body, a hidden malt presence, and a relatively light amount of carbonation to it. IPA's are a dime a dozen and this one would be sure to please nearly everyone, while giving aficionados plenty to savor as it warmed up and showed it's true colors. Nice job by Civil Society with this!

Appearance: Pours a hazy honey color with the full three fingers; excellent retention and spotty lacing
Smell: Pineapple and passionfruit with a hint of berry and kiwi
Taste: Passionfruit and papaya forward with the pineapple emerging; hints of berry and kiwi underneath; pithy bitterness, through the middle and a somewhat austere finish; hint of warmth from the alcohol
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; the alcohol adds some warmth in the gullet
Overall: A quality DIPA with a great aroma but I would prefer a juicier finish
