Had from can June 2018
A buddy nailed it, saying “this stuff smells like strawberry neopolitan ice cream” - just another in Civil arsenal of other worldly hazy ipas. Chewy and ‘cheese rindy’ with the best of them. You won’t want to finish the beer because you know you’ll be sad when it’s done. Very few breweries out there can hold a candle to what CS is doing. Seek it out.

16oz can, didn't note the can date, but known to be fresh, poured into a 14oz snifter glass. Enjoyed on 12.18.17, reviewed from Tasting Journal.
The beer pours a super hazy and turbid golden straw color with a foamy finger of white head that has good lace and moderate retention. The aroma is nice, very dank and grassy, floral and even a bit minty with plenty of citrus juice, tropical fruit, pale grains and sweet yeast. The flavors are nice, very juicy and citrusy, tangy and bright tropical fruits, sweet yeast, pale grains and a lingering piney and grassy hop bite. The mouthfeel is good, coating with a creamy medium body, nice lively texture and a dry finish.
Verdict: A very good IPA from Civil Society. Fresh, juicy with a nice underlying piney bitterness and the balance is good too, bright and delicate but with a nice malt backbone as well. Excellently crafted beer.

On tap at Civil Society. Hazy orange. Smells of grapefruit, garlic, and some tropical sweetness. Tastes of orange, candy sweetness, a little peach. Low Civil yeast presence, especially for a DIPA. Fairly aggressive grapefruit bitterness. Medium heavy. Good, but too big for me.
