16oz can received courtesy of FrankenMiller. No freshness date on the can, which does not feature a French Bulldog prominently on the can label, somewhat unusual for mybadmittedly small sample size of CS's output. This is bumming out a friend of mine whose kid is her 13yr old French Bulldog.
Poured into a sniffer, this is an opaque orange-taupe color, with an eggshell white head that dropped quickly, but didn't go away entirely.
Initially, it smelled like a glass of orange juice, living up to it's name. Slightly earthy undertone from the wheat.
Orangey citrus flavor up front. Warming "boozy" flavor deep in the background. The wheat is more obvious at the midway point, a d keeps the Mosaics in check. Slightly bitter, acidic bite at the finish.
Full bodied, with a creamy mouthfeel.
This is an odd beer. By no means is it a bad beer, just odd. I can't help but feel that this should be labeled as a New England style IPA rather than a wheat ale. Yes there's plenty of wheat used in brewing this, but the mosaic hops are very much the dominant partner here. Regardless, this is the most unique beer I've had in a while. Thanks, Gene!

Sometimes Civil Society hits one out of the park. Had this on tap at the WPB Location. CS has been pretty inconsistent with their IPAs the last couple years. It seems to me that either the brewers have changed or there’s a loss of interest in making the best IPAs in Florida. In any case, whoever brewed this batch of Extra, Extra Pulp definitely is a damn good brewer and definitely cared about making great beer.
Looks turbid and a little more orange than your typical NEIPA. As expected, big mosaic hops on the nose with strong citrus. Taste is very well balanced with just enough wheat to keep the large amount of hops in check.. Goes down real easy and no way you would ever know this is a triple IPA. Hands down the best IPA I’ve had from CS since the first year they were open.
Advice - Drink this IPA a little colder than normal. If you let it warm up you get hit with a strong alcohol taste that takes over the flavor of the beer. Also, drink this beer fresh, after 2-3 weeks in the can it turns into a big mess of alcohol with off flavors. I brought the scores down a bit due to that fact.

On tap at the brewery. Murky and dull orange. Smells of strong mosaic hops. Orange and garlic. Hefty wheat, too. Tastes much the same. Very intense wheat flavor that persists throughout. Citrus and garlic hops lend a nice bite and bitterness. The wheat lends quite a bite as well. Medium body. Almost a spicy feel to it. Not sure I love it, but it has some appeal.

This one pours a very hazy orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells strangely funky, almost like gym socks/sweaty feet. I don't love it. I do get dank oranges and piney hops.
The funky aroma translates to the flavor. It's fairly off putting. I can tell there's a nice juicy, citrusy, and mildly bitter IPA behind this, but the old feet thing is off putting.
This is medium bodied, crisp, but not all that drinkable.
Something went awry here- I don't love this.

So. Much. Terps!
The abv is hidden well in the hops and aromatics. Top notch brew!
