On tap at Dixie Bar and Grill. Hazy orange. Smells of tangerine, orange, lots of pith, and a tinge if lime. Tastes of citrus all the way. Orange pith and some lime. A little bit if a pine woody flavor too. Grainy malt with a slight mineral finish. Mild bitterness. Pretty good with a little bit of an abrasive finish.

4th review. my 1st from brewer. has that hard, mineral florida water, which can be a good thing in bagels, pizza and beer.
a) Haze bomb, light yellow, fluffy head.
s) that grass and citrus and wild american of Comet hops.
t) Lots of grass, citrus, some woody weedy wild earthy greens.
f) Chalky, reedy.
o) Comet is unusual, wild, but soft. Higher marks for originality.

16oz tallboy can, courtesy of FrankenMiller and his box of beers sent to me as part of NBS mini-Bif 12.5. No freshness date, but I got a feeling that it's not very old.
Poured into a bombing range Brewing glass, this is a fairly hazy semi-opaque tangerine color. Decent-sized off-white head. Beer negligee style lace.
Tropical fruits and a bit of bitter Citrus in the nose.
Flavor-wise, up front there's tropical fruit and melon flavors aplenty. In the background is a little bit of a bitter citrus-flavor. That bitter citrusy-ness comes a bit more to the fore about mid-way through. Finish is mildly dry.
Medium bodied, with a soft but resiny mouthfeel.
I'm digging this. In the past I've had IPAs hopped with Comet right around the time those were becoming in Vogue again, and I was not impressed. Perhaps the secret is blending them with Citra hops because this is delightful. Many thanks, Gene.

A: The beer is very hazy pale whitish yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass and some lacing down the sides.
S: Light to moderate aromas of gooseberry and lime are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional hints of grapefruit zest and hints of lychee. Little to no bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is nice, but I seem to get more of the Citra hops instead of the Comet.
Serving type: can

Fresh Comets (6.2%) India Pale Ale, Civil's rotating take on their flagship IPA, Fresh, brewed with Citra and Comet hops.
While Comet hops are supposed to be heavy on the grapefruit flavor this beer with Citra and Comet should have been amazing, sadly my can was lacking in the normal hoppiness Civil is know for, instead this almost has a "Wild" taste. If you like that Farmhouse wild yeast flavor you may enjoy this a bit more than I did.
This beer is not retired Civil does go back and brew beers that they haven't for several years routinely.
