On tap at the brewery. Hazy orange. Smells of oats, cream, vanilla, and tropical fruit hops. Tastes of cream, vanilla, and a thick oaty body. Orange and tropical fruit hop blends with the sweetness. Low bitterness, if at all. Vanilla permeates. Medium heavy, but not too sluggish. Thick without being sweet. Not bad, even though it's not my style.

 

 

 

This beer is a collab with a new brewery called Unseen Creatures. It’s a Milkshake IPA with oats, lactose, vanilla bean and cinnamon. Smell is typical citrus hops but I do get a small bit of cinnamon. Taste has strong hop bitterness, but a little sweet from the lactose which works well and I can pick up some cinnamon on the back end. I don’t taste the vanilla but the hops really did some damage to my palette so it’s probably my own senses that can’t pick it up. The beer is pretty smooth from the oats and definitely has some drinkability. I brought home 8 cans from the brewery release day and noticed that after a couple of weeks in the cans the beer actually got better. The hops mellowed out a bit (they were kind of bright on release day) and allowed the adjunct flavors to really shine. Vanilla was finally found and it was good. Overall an excellent beer that I hope to see again.
