500 mL bottle. Pours black with minimal head. Smells of lots of vanilla, chocolate, rum barrel, and some light pepper spice. Tastes of rum, molasses, dark chocolate, even more vanilla, cinnamon, and finally a bit of pepper spice. Nowhere near as spicy as I expected. It's well balanced in that regard. I really don't get much whiskey out of it; I get a lot more of the rum barrel. I don't know how much the rum contributes in a positive manner, but it isn't offensive. Heavy and slow to drink. Pretty sweet, but not excessive like other 3 Sons stouts. Or maybe it is, but I don't notice from the pepper. Pretty good, but not something I need more of.
