16 oz tall boy can received courtesy of FrankenMiller. No freshness date.
Poured into a Precious Things teku, this was an opaque honey-tangerine color, with a decent-sized off-white head. Nice lace.
I was expecting a fruit bomb, but this has a fairly mellow nose to it. There is some tropical fruits and some Citrus hoppiness present in the nose. Kind of reminds me of Mandarin oranges.
While the beginning of the taste has a bit of tropical fruit like flavor to it, the more it passes through the taste buds the more citrusy and orange-like it becomes. It also gets a little sweeter mid-way through. Finish is mildly dry. No sign of the high abv.
Softer mouthfeel than, say, a west coast IPA, but a bit more resiny than most hazies.
Is there such thing as a session Imperial hazy IPA? This sort of drinks like one. It's extremely easy going on the taste buds. I feel like I could have several of these, but I suspect my coordination would not be too good afterwards! Thanks, Gene!
