German style ale brewed mainly in Cologne. Clean, crisp & refreshing…similar to a lager. Classic lawnmower beer.

On tap at Noble Shepherd Craft Brewery in Bloomfield, NY.

This pours a slightly hazy (too hazy for the style, to be honest) golden yellow, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like bready malts, with some honey sweetness, and grassy hops.

This isn't exactly traditional, but it's still tasty to me. It's quite crisp, with lemony and grassy hop character, and a nice bready malt backbone.

This is light bodied, clean, and very crisp, with a great drinkability on it.

The appearance doesn't quite seem right, but this is still nice stuff.

This Kölsch is almost clear, with a light chill haze. It is straw (SRM 2-3). Three inches of fluffy white head slowly settles to one-quarter inch, leaving a webbing lace on a Simpli stange. Fine, random carbonation drifts upwards from within.

The aroma is reminiscent of water crackers with a mild, soapy astringency. Once the soapiness passes, it becomes clear with mild floral notes and a hint of honey.

The bitter/sweet balance is crisp. Both vie for attention, rising and falling like a casual see-saw. Mild cracker flavors mix with light honey in a delicate and elegant display. The beer is modestly dry with a mild, lingering finish.

Light to medium body, the texture of tulle and no hint of alcohol. Fizzy carbonation adds to a clean mineral presence.

This is a good Kölsch to be enjoyed after the workday and will be exceptional on a hot afternoon. I'm enjoying this with a spaghetti dinner.
