On tap at Noble Shepherd Craft Brewing in Bloomfield, NY.
This one pours a fairly thick looking orange color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells mostly like mango, with not much raspberry. The little bit of grape character is interesting, and the basil adds a nice herbal thing.
The basil is the most interesting part of this one, and it actually works pretty well. It's mostly on the finish, adding a spicy and herbal balance to the big gloopy assault up front. It's mostly mango - I don't really get much raspberry, which is surprising, as it feels like raspberry usually is a pretty dominant and up front sort of flavor.
This is medium bodied, moderately thick and gloopy, with a good drinkability to it.
This sort of thing will never be my absolute favorite sort of thing, but the basil is an intriguing addition, and Noble Shepherd does the style well.
