On cask at Noble Shepherd Craft Brewery in Bristol, NY.
This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like silky sweet maple, roasted malt, some earthiness, dark fruit, and vanilla.
This is definitely an update on the reglar Vanilla/Coffee Bean stout, and it's great to walk in randomly to a brewery that has cask available. The maple adds a nice silky character, softening any harshness that might have been there.
This is medium bodied, creamy, and well carbonated for a cask beer. The delivery really helps with this one.
I haven't always liked cask beers, but I'm still happy to come across it every so often.
