The initial pour is clear, orange to gold (SRM 4-6). One inch of creamy white head settles and holds at about one quarter inch. Adding the final two ounces drops a hazy storm that descends upon Mt. Hood at the bottom of this Mt. Hood Northern pint glass. The haze never fully obscures the view, and patches of lace form above.
The menagerie of fruit gives it a rather muddy aroma. With effort, canned pineapple, vanilla, and coconut are discernible. While this has a pleasant aroma, it lacks the freshness and brightness that I had hoped for.
The flavor resembles the muddy mix of fruit cocktail. This time, tangerine comes forward. It is fairly tart, with a long, modestly strong finish.
A full body and the texture of velour. Alcohol is more noticeable than expected, while soft carbonation meets my expectations.
This is an enjoyable beer, however, Noble Shepherd has done better. Warmth significantly improved the beer late in the session. Much thanks to Dave.
