330ml bottle served in a wine glass. Bottle is dated 23/10/2029. It may be vintage 2017. Bought it at a liquor store in Bialystok.
Pours murky, dark red-brown, medium sized creamy head, notably active but very fine carbonation. Smell is alcohol, intense red grapes, maybe a little soy sauce.
Taste is noticeable soy sauce, some rye spice. Lots of chocolate after it airs out a little bit. Boozy, burnt toffee bittersweetness.
Mouthfeel is thick, bordering on syrupy. Overall...I'm conflicted. I'm pretty sure the soy sauce is a sign of infection and it's strong enough I can't ignore it, but it's early stages or not overwhelming, because I can pick up lots of interesting good flavors, too. It's within it's best by date if I understand the label (which is iffy due to language barrier). My wife recognized something weird about it, and acknowledged it could be soy sauce when I named it, so it probably isn't my imagination.
