suspect they will sell plenty of this brew. kolsch-like in several ways, the Mateo is yellow gold and perdectly transparent, with an initially fluffy head. light carbonation on first inspection, and confirmed across the palate. aroma is a hybrid blonde cereal graininess with herbal, earthy Noble hops. little lemon scent provides hints of lager characteristics. easy drinking, probably as they wanted, this beer will satisfy the light lager crowd, the 805 crowd, and the lawnmower beer drinkers. fine, if not exceptional. finish is creamier than a pils, but a touch more bitter than some blonde ales.
