750 mL bottle. Deep amber body. Smells of brown sugar, bourbon, and fruity notes. Tastes of brown sugar and bourbon. Oak. Lots of alcohol. Heavy. A huge barleywine. Brown sugar and bourbon monster, but good.

Served in 12oz tulip. Poured a very still murky dark brown color. No head.
The aroma was very sweet, lots of malt, but no alcohol scent, which was a surprise given the ABV.
The same on the tongue, lots of sweetness, but there was just a touch of alcohol heat to act as a counterpoint.
The body was smooth, even, and the finish was, somewhat surprisingly, semi-sweet.
Overall, a nice beer that suffered a bit from the lack of carbonation. Some bubbles would have raised the score. Still though, worth trying if you see it.

Looks good, smells good, but it’s really thin and entirely too sweet to the point that it masks any complexity- which I assume is the main reason so many love it, which is maddening. I’d be interested in see how this ages and revisit in a few years.
