Hazy, nearly pulpy lemon-yellow body. Good head production, retention, and lacing. Beautiful beer.

Lovely green and herbal nose, along with hints of citrus and tropical fruit. Seems Galaxy or Citra forward, but that's a guess. Guava and pepper notes add further depth.

Modest dankness, bright herbs, citrus tones; crackery pale malt; green leaf and grass. Could use more malt sweetness; it's a lovely bright low-ABV IPA, essentially, but it's lacking in body. A touch more heft than a session IPA.

Pale yellow with a faint orange cast to it. Hazy/murky as they do. Nice fuzzy white head that lingers decently and produces some enjoyable lacing.

Nose is bright citrus... it actually reminds me of these mandaquats that have been popping up in the produce aisle lately. Maybe some light melon and grass. The main impression is just that it feels bright and fresh.

Taste is actually thinner than I'd expected. There's light citrus again and kind of a faint wave at some earthiness and green fruits, but it's all much more subdued than I'd expect. Definitely and APA moreso than an IPA. Definitely ends with a pithy bitterness though.

I'm of two minds on this. On the one hand, it feels a little thinner than I would have expected. But on the other hand it does feel very fresh and bright. The spritzy carbonation plays into both of those coin-sides. Again, definitely APA as opposed to IPA, which I do appreciate. The finish grows bigger the further out you get, though, in good old fashioned NW style.
I think this is well done, but I'm not sure I'm the target audience for it.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy yellow orange, nearly opaque in the glass, with a one finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of pale malt, citrus and slightly dank hops, lemon and grapefruit. Flavor is nearly neutral pale malt, citrus hops, lemon and grapefruit juice and rind. A hint of biscuit in the finish with lingering, lightly resinous citrus hops with moderate bitterness. Medium bodied with light creaminess. This is a new style I should have expected: a hazy pale ale. Looks exactly like a NE style IPA, but the aroma is much more traditional citrus hops with virtually no tropical fruit component. Flavor is the same. A bit drier than most pale ales, but with a pleasant, long lasting hop character that gives a crisp, satisfying hop bitterness in the finish. I'm not much of a session beer drinker, but this one seems to deliver a lot of flavor for the ABV. Happy anniversary, Bottleworks, nice choice.
