can into glass
Medium brown head that dissipates quickly. A little thick, during the pour. Very dark brown that looks rather black. Mixed, very dark roasted grains, under dark chocolate, a tinge of vanilla and a whiff of toasted coconut, for the aroma. Very robust, with a dose of sweetness, dark chocolate on very dark roasted grains, with the slightest vanilla and toasted coconut, backing flavor. The sweetness as usual, has a molasses type flavor. This is pretty smooth, with a little edge from the very roasted malt. No booziness at all, with a heavy mouthfeel. Finish is a touch of vanilla on dark chocolate. This is the second imperial stout that I've had from this brewery and they know how to make heavy stouts, as well as most anybody.

Tons of bitter coffee and vanilla. A bit on the sweet side, and I wish the barrel would have been stronger to balance it all, but it’s still real good.
